NIC Scholarship
RECIPIENT WILL BE PRESENTED WITH THE FOLLOWING:

An Award Certificate.

A monetary award in the amount of up to $325.00, payable directly to RID or to the applicant if appropriate RID receipt is provided.
CRITERIA:

Applicant must have held CCTRID membership for at least one (1) year, and be an active member prior to applying.

Applicant must be a member in good standing of RID.

Applicant must have an Associates degree.

Applicant must not have any other forms of scholarships, payments, or reimbursements available that will pay for their NIC testing.

Applicant can only receive the monetary award once.

Upon certification, award recipient must be willing to provide the CCTRID membership with an NIC preparation workshop or lead an NIC study group supported and approved by the CCTRID Board.
The applicant must submit the following:
a. A completed application form. (Click here for the application form.)
b. Copy of RID membership card.
c. One copy of official transcript(s) showing graduation status.
d. A typed, maximum two-page, double-spaced essay in which the applicant:

Supports the impact this scholarship will have to assist him/her.

Illustrates his/her involvement in CCTRID.

Provides applicant’s background in the interpreting field, showing both educational and community interpreting experience.

Supports his/her reasons for pursuing Certification.

Completed Reference Forms from three (3)
persons who have knowledge of the applicant’s character, potential, and
goals. One of the forms must be provided by a previous or
current interpreting supervisor/colleague. (One person may be a family

f. RID Testing Receipt (if applicable)
Failure to follow any of these guidelines will render the application void.
