Cindy Gillespie, President of CCTRID, has been involved with RID for many years. Certified by NAD, Cindy is an Ohio native who has served as District Director for the Ohio Chapter of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (OCRID). She has an Associate of Arts degree in Manual Communication (ASL) from Sinclair College, with an additional certification in Deaf Studies. Her Bachelor of Science degree is in Organizational Management from Bethel College. Cindy taught in the Interpreter Training Program (ITP) at Sinclair, and was Sinclair's liaison for NAD and RID evaluations held at their site. She has served on various task forces involving Deaf Awareness, and aided in instituting additional Deaf Community Services in Ohio's Tri-County area. Cindy is presently applying to Lee University to obtain a Masters in Education. Her freelancing business, "Interpreting with Integrity" has led her into a variety of interpreting situations, as well as a wealth of experience. Her workshop by the same name (Interpreting with Integrity) was rated a huge success in the Ohio interpreting community. Cindy and her husband are the directors of the Deaf Disciples Ministry at Shenandoah Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. When asked for highlights of her 30+ interpreting career, Cindy is thankful for the opportunity to interpret (expressively or receptively) for such famous speakers as: Evangelists Ronnie Rice and Allen Snare, Rev. Billy Graham, Ohio Governor Robert Taft, and TV personality - Art Linkletter.

Alisa Barnes, Vice President of CCTRID, has been involved with the Deaf community all her life. As a Child of Deaf Adults, Alisa was exposed to sign language at a very young age. Alisa went to Cleveland State Community College and took classes for Dental Hygiene and Early Childhood Development. Quickly realizing sign language was her passion, Alisa changed gears. As an adult, Alisa has been deeply involved with the Deaf community. For over 7 years, Alisa has worked with the Deaf, as a freelance interpreter. For over a year, she worked as Staff Interpreter for Partnership for Families, Children, and Adults with the division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Recently, Alisa has obtained her National Interpreter Certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. Alisa currently works as a Video Relay Interpreter and continues her freelance work in the community. Although the Deaf are very important to her life as a CODA and an interpreter, Alisa does all her work for her three wonderful children. Alisa states that she strives to be all she can be, as an interpreter, as a person, and most importantly, as a mother.
